In summer 2019, Trish had a 6 hour delay and was stuck in the Tulum airport. She decided to go on the dating app Hinge to pass the time, and she had a message from "Liam, 6'4", Loan Officer". They got to texting which continued on for weeks, until Trish asked Liam when he was going to ask her out, in which he replied, "how about tomorrow?". 1 first date, 2 subway rides, 3 slices of pizza, 4 beers, and 5 hours later, it was clear this date would be the first of many.
Meeting 9 months before a global pandemic would be a challenge for many couples, but Trish and Liam grew closer in many ways. Liam taught Trish how to cook (and now she is the chef in the relationship), and they had a trial run of living together in a small NYC apartment with a mouse problem. In summer 2020, Liam also lived with the Sharma family for a few weeks, and that's when Liam and Trish celebrated their one year anniversary with outdoor dining (at Prime, Long Islanders will understand!). Liam fit right in with the Sharma family, cooking with Payal and Karishma, having cognac with Rajiv, and creating a "home gym" with Rishab and Bhavin. It was clear to the family that Trish had found her person, and they were thrilled!
Over Christmas 2020, Trish met Liam's family for the first time, and she was scared of messing up! However, Liam's family welcomed her with opened arms, and the rest was history. From watching It's a wonderful life on Christmas Eve, to Christmas crackers, to filling stockings to the brim, Trish learned all the Aguirre Christmas traditions and was grateful to be a part of them! In this photo, Trish and Liam went on a waterfall walk and enjoyed the beautiful upstate winter scenery of Liam's hometown.
In 2021, Trish and Liam took the big step to move in together, and they lived in Murray Hill together for 3 years. They were even luckier that their best friends Brendan, Josh and Jack lived 10 floors above them, and that Karishma and Bhavin were across the street, making it feel like a real life NYC sitcom (Friends or HIMYM...that is up for debate!). Their apartment held many memories for Trish and Liam, including watching the 4th of July fireworks on the east river, throwing many parties (especially superbowl), and experimenting in the kitchen together.
In 2022, Trish and Liam got to celebrate the beautiful wedding of Karishma and Bhavin in Khao Lak, Thailand. This is where Liam amazed the crowd with his Indian dance moves (prepare for round 2!), and where we all truly felt like one big family.
On August 4, 2023, Liam truly surprised Trish when he asked her to marry him. Liam pulled out all the stops- a rose petal heart, red carpet, photos, candles, a stunning view, and an elaborate plan to throw Trish off. The proposal was in Chelsea, and after Trish said yes, there was another surprise waiting for her at Baar Baar- their friends, family and loved ones to celebrate. It was a truly magical day!
